Nos disponemos a contaros como han ido las cosas este último mes trabajando en el Manual de Supervivencia Maker y por el espacio de Makespace Madrid. Nos gustaría manteros más al día de los avances, pero entre unas cosas y otras no llegamos a ser más comunicativos. ¡Trataremos de hacerlo mejor!
Look & Feel del Manual de Supervivencia Maker
Estas semanas hemos estado trabajando en el diseño Editorial con ayuda de un especialista, Eduardo Merchán, con quién estamos trabajando el “look and feel” del Manual. Edu ha trabajado con Scribus y otros software libres en otras publicaciones y nos está guiando también en el uso de estas herramientas. Hemos estado buscando bibliografía sobre autoedición con software libre y hemos encontrado este libro, que nos estamos estudiando, y que está fenomenal para entender bien las posibilidades de Scribus.
Hemos recopilado un montón de libros interesantes, con distintos tipos de encuadernación y estamos buscando distintas posibilidades para inspirarnos y que el Manual tenga un toque maker muy especial. Ya hemos decidido sobre el formato, la encuadernación y la sobre cubierta, pero no digo nada para que sea sorpresa ;)
También gracias a Edu hemos descubierto este proyecto "The nounproject", que recopila un conjunto de logotipos e imágenes visuales con distintas licencias. Entre ellas se encuentran imágenes y símbolos de dominio público y con licencias creative commons, que estamos pensando usar en cada uno de los capítulos.
La próxima semana esperamos hacer una plano de la publicación, ya que los contenidos están bastante avanzados, los makers escritores están trabajando duro para tenerlo todo a punto. Hay varios capítulos en revisión y la parte de Internet de las Cosas y Arduino va bastante avanzada. Sabemos que siempre lo más difícil es la última parte del proyecto, rematar y revisar todos los textos, códigos e imágenes. Esperamos aprovechar las vacaciones navideñas para poder dar un buen empujón a estos aspectos de los contenidos.
Imanes y llaveros, producción en el Makespace
Tras unas semanas de producción intensa de llaveros e imanes, y teniendo ya la caja llena de imanes amarillos, ¡Jairo no ha podido evitar probar cosas nuevas! Nuestro maker experto en resina de poliuretano, ha estado investigando cómo hacer las piezas en varios colores utilizando un único molde.
El proceso es el siguiente, se utiliza una mezcla de resina con un pigmento, y se rellena el molde hasta que hemos cubierto la M. Luego una vez fraguado, se añade la resina con el otro pigmento hasta rellenar completamente el molde. No es fácil que quede bien, porque rápidamente una parte o la otra se manchan, así que estamos tratando de encontrar un sistema para optimizar el proceso.
Novedades de los makers en Makespace Madrid
Enrique y Jairo siguen maqueando sus dos versiones de Everest ( la versión de Tantilus portable) que tiene piezas de resina de poliuretano e impresas en 3D. Han quedado muy chulas, con el toque del cerramiento lateral de máquina en DM pintado amarillo.
Os invitamos a pasar a verlas los martes a las 19:00, que como sabéis tenemos la tarde abierta. Además, según Javier Fernández,¡el espacio está mejor que nunca! Es cierto que tenemos varios miembr@s nuev@s, con mucha energía y ganas de participar, Makespace ha echado raíces en Madrid y se nota :)
